…I groaned at your love of Michael Bublé? You wouldn't believe it, but I love the sound of his voice now.
…we spontaneously burst into "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" at the top of our lungs while we washed dishes? I felt like we were on a stage singing to a thousand people. It was almost magical.
…we decided to drive the Lincoln down to the driveway all by ourselves? I was so proud of my driving instructions, and your confidence.
…I insulted your sweater? I've regretted those words every day since then.
…we washed fourteen loads of dishes? I'd give anything to wash dishes with you one more time. Who would think it provides the perfect atmosphere for a heart-to-heart?
…we used to sing together? I never told you, but you were my right arm. I knew I could depend on you to back me up, and I always considered us the two best.
…I called you on the phone in February, and you were crying? You will never know how bad my heart broke for you.
…in January, how you prayed for us, and made us brownies, and gave us money for chicken nuggets? I know they were small gestures, but they spoke volumes to me. I needed a friend, and right then, your friendship meant the world to me.
…I introduced you to Pandora? I never dreamed we would make so many memories through it.
…I told you about Tom Shaw? I never realized you were so preoccupied, and I felt bad about it for days.
…you came and spent those several nights at my house? I can't make light of the problems the weather caused for others, but I'm grateful for those tornado watches creating instant sleepovers.
…you got nervous before the play, but you pushed through the fear and acted your heart out? I was so stinkin' proud of you for overcoming your fear and giving it your best.
Do you remember how, when, and where we made these memories? I remember, and I won't forget. There's a thousand other things we could say, but who has time to record 8 years of memories? And it seems like it's been even longer than that. We have been through bad times, and we have been through good times. I think I can say I've stuck with you through thick and thin, and I know that you have been my partner in crime and goodwill.
Learn from the bad memories, and cherish the good memories. I love you, dearheart.
"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace."
